How can anyone call Antonio a diver?
He takes far more physical punishment than the likes of Son, Kane, Grealish etc. and has maybe learned from them and playing in Europe that going down gets results. Unfortunately in his case it appears not to be the case.

COYI

I agree to a point COYI that Antonio does himself no favours with the 'Angel arms, ridiculous bending over and occational 'collapse'. However yesterday he got battered and was given nothing.

Turn off the West Ham blinkers folks. Antonio is undeniably a diver. To claim the opposite simply isn't true.

From the BBC Website

Pick of the stats
West Ham 2-2 Man City

Manchester City trailed by two or more goals at half-time for the 53rd time in the Premier League, with this only the second time they’ve avoided defeat from such a position (D2 L51).

West Ham have scored at least once in all 19 of their home league matches this season, with this only the third league campaign in their history to see them score in 100% of their home games, after 1980-81 (second tier) and 1926-27 (top-flight).

City remain unbeaten away from home in the Premier League since losing their opening match away to Spurs – their 18-game unbeaten run on the road is their longest away from home in their league history (W14 D4).

Jarrod Bowen has scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in the Premier League this season. His 22 goals + assists are the third most in a single campaign in the competition by a West Ham player, after Paolo Di Canio (29 in 1999-00) and John Hartson (23 in 1997-98).

Indeed. The exact opposite of Klippety Klopp and why I will be glad if City Pip them.

Master - but football is a contact sport, despite what some countries have tried to achieve by leaning on FIFA etc in recent years. I hate the idea of fans pandering to those who want a whistle every time there is contact in football. They're turning it into a game for cheats and those scared of their own shadow.

And the more fans pander to the idea that there will be a whistle every time there is contact, the more the idiots (and they are absolute idiots) running the game will deliver it for you.

Careful what you wish for.

Nothing worse than seeing a 13 stone footballer fall over his own shadow. For £100k a week, the least they can do is stay on their feet, whether they play for us or not.

Ok.. Here goes:

Yesterday we played with real determination and the effort from the players was exemplary. Man City are a great team and should actually be in the CL final if it were not for an implosion in the last minute.

The officiating yesterday was nothing short of 'cheating'. Totally biased from all 3 officials. I'm not sure how Moyes manages to stay so cool; I'd have exploded.

We have one chance now and one only to keep Rice and Bowen (both of whom are worth small fortunes). We must get it right with recruitment now! We need a bigger squad and have to bring in at least 3 or possibly 4 top level players. I think Lanzini is off (reaction of some of the players when he came off yesterday) and Angelo is not going to be the same when he comes back. I'd be tempted to raid Leicester for a couple of their players; Barnes in particular is a top player.

I was gutted we lost yesterday (Antonio and Bowen both guilty of missing gilt edged opportunities, Bowen gets a pass though for having scored 2 goals).

All in all a great day and a proper send of for Nobes who has been a credit to the club.

A quick thanks too for the City fans who were very appreciative of Noble, prior to kick off at 16 mins and after the game.. Quality that.

Watching the lines man first half allow a foul throw as the man city players foot was over the line was so poor , summed up how terrible the officials were.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread FT 2-2
Thought it was a good game, thrilled we got a result for Nobes send off.

At half time we looked in good shape for the win but the early goal gave them hope. We did well to come away with a point in the end. They are a terrific side so scoring 2 and getting a point shouldnt be sniffed at.

Bowen has to be in the England squad after that.

Hopefully a win against Brighton secures 6th.....with our record against them and their form recently that might be the harder result to secure!

Oh and the ref should be investigated after that performance. Absolutely shocking from him, didnt even attempt to hide the bias at times. Its amazing how the best league in the world can have officiating like that.

Can't argue with a 2-2 all draw but frustrating as we had chances to win it, Antonio should have squared it to Fornals who'd made a great run.

I wonder if we were cheaters and good at it how many more points we might have? I mean proper Athletico level cheating or even Liverpool.

I've said this to my old man so many times this season. Mainly towards Antonio. He gets fouled atleast twice a game where he doesn't go down even yesterday, first half there was a challenge on him in their penalty box, most players would have gone down or made more contact and then gone down. That cunt Taylor yesterday was shocking. Even when Antonio did go down after being fouled he waved play on. The cunts are getting worse. I've not seen their penalty but he was standing 7 yards from it and waved play on. Now, was it a clear and obvious mistake ? The refs haven't even tried hiding it this year that they're helping the big six clubs. There's been more debates this season than I can remember with VAR.

It only feels like a defeat because we were winning 2 - 0. Not because we might expect to routinely beat Manchester City

Just watching MOTD highlights and saw this in the first half. Lanzini gets kicked in the back of the leg and falls over as a result. The ball rolls to one of their players. Commentary: ‘and Lanzini’s lost it’ and then even on the slow motion replay ‘West Ham giving the ball away cheaply’ when it’s perfectly clear he just gets kicked. Not even questioned that it might be a foul.

This performance and season's end shows the massive progress we have made under Moyes. As Sir Alf, says, the best manager we've had in forty years. His record proves it.

I can't see Rice or Bowen going in the Summer now we're on another European tour. Invest big and well in the Summer and we could make another serious push next season.

Laporte goes down from Micky's challenge which was minimal. Span around, made it look significant. Hardly a foul. They get an own goal. It's not diving, it's getting the ref to see contact and asking him to make a decision.
